Cynthia F. Baute (née Fulchiero) died peacefully and went to her God on March 27, 2015 in Warwick, Rhode Island at the age of 73. Cynthia is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Robert E. Baute, MD.

Cynthia was born on March 25, 1942 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to John P. and Anna D. Fulchiero (née DiGiacobbe) and grew up in Gallitzin and Newry, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School in Altoona, Pennsylvania and Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing (now part of Drexel University) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She worked as a registered nurse at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, and at the John Ferris Health Center in West Warwick and Warwick, Rhode Island. She completed an Associate’s degree in history at the Community College of Rhode Island in 1992.

Cynthia married Robert E. Baute, MD on August 29, 1964. They lived in Philadelphia, East Greenwich and Burlington, Vermont before settling in Warwick, Rhode Island to raise their family. She had a tremendous thirst for knowledge and a belief in the power of education, and encouraged her children and grandchildren in the same. Her curiosity about history went hand in hand her love of travel, and she and her husband took every opportunity to explore new places both domestically and internationally, visiting every art museum or historical site they could fit into their itinerary. Her love of knowledge was superseded only by her faith and her love of family, friends and tradition. She was renowned for her holiday cookies, which she generously distributed every year, and she enjoyed nothing more than to be surrounded by her loved ones for holiday gatherings and impromptu parties. Cynthia always said, “The best part of my life was with my husband and my children.”

She is survived by her children, Maria B. Stewart of Hopkinton, Massachusetts, Lisa B. Baute, MD and Lisa’s husband, Adam M. Tobias, MD of Arlington, Massachusetts, and Robert E. Baute, Jr., Esq. and his wife, Elisabeth S. Baute, of Cranston, Rhode Island. She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren: Isla, Aidan and Carlin Stewart, Alexander Tobias, and Owen and Andrew Baute. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Fulchiero of Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania; her brother, Gregory J. Fulchiero, MD of Altoona, Pennsylvania, and her son-in-law, R. Kevin Stewart of Hopkinton, Massachusetts. She leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
