Cyril L. Kennedy, formerly of Pawtuxet, passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol.

Born in Warren, he was a son of the late Edmund Kennedy and Margaret (Givney) Charlton. Mr. Kennedy was in the automotive industry for many years before retiring. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and received the World War II Victory Medal, American Theater Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal with one star, and the Philippine Liberation Medal. Mr. Kennedy was an avid boater and enjoyed auto racing.

He was the beloved father of Virginia A. Harvey and the late Elizabeth L. Kennedy; brother of the late Robert and George Kennedy.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, February 17, at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Timothy Church, Warwick Ave., at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visiting hours Monday 4-7 p.m.
