(Funny, poignant comedy)

Vince Vaughn delivers a funny, poignant, toned down performance as David Wozniak, prodigal son of the Wozniak meat market family. David is a real screw-up. He owes lots of money, is always late with his deliveries, disappoints his girlfriend (Cobie Smulders) at every turn, grows pot in his apartment and has made close to 700 sperm donations, resulting in 533 children.

David’s children, now in young adulthood, have joined together in a lawsuit to find out who their father is. David hires his best friend (Chris Pratt), a slovenly lawyer, who obtains profiles on all of his offspring. He secretly seeks them out, one at a time, getting involved in their troubled lives. Some of his encounters are funny, while others are a bit unrealistic. He attempts to become their guardian angel as he becomes more and more obsessed with his fatherhood. It all comes down to the big trial and a rather contrived ending, setting up a major act of redemption.

If you have nothing better to do on a cold, winter night, you may enjoy this fluffy comedy. Rated PG-13, with lots of sexual and drug references and some profanity.
