The steps of Warwick City Hall are one of 16 sites throughout the state where people will come together to celebrate the National Day of Prayer today at noon.

Cheryl Russell is state coordinator of the event when people are asked “to set aside an hour or more at noon on this first day in May in order to pray in unity for order and right government in our cities, states and in Washington, D.C.”

Other sites throughout the state may be may be found online at the website nationaldayofprayer.org, under the title “Events.” The Events section lists every state and every place in each state.

According to organizers, “in this time of national change, every prayer is important. The Bible states, ‘Come, let us reason together, says The Lord.’

“Godly and intelligent men wrote our Constitution, and it has survived productively longer than any other national constitution.”
