DeGiulio Insurance staged a sixth-inning comeback to go ahead of VFW Post 4-2 and then held off a VFW rally to win a 4-3 thriller at West Side Wednesday night. The game was highlighted by the starting pitching duel between DeGiulio Insurance’s Jake White and VFW’ s Max Caracuzzo. White pitched four innings of two-hit ball while Caracuzzo held DeGiulio to only two hits over five innings, and left the game with his team up 2-1. DeGiulio’s sixth-inning comeback was capped by Jake White’s two-run triple. Jack Ayers also had a key hit late in the game for DeGiulio. Thomas Mullane came in to stop VFW’s late rally and get the save for DeGiulio.

Dylan Bourett scored two runs for VFW, and Ethan Dillon was 2-for-3 with an RBI and made a stellar defensive play late in the game to keep VFW within striking range.
