In December Christopher DiMicco held a soft opening for his new restaurant, DiMicco’s Authentic Italian Eatery.
He waited nearly six months for his grand opening to ensure customers were having the very best experience at the restaurant before hosting his grand opening last Thursday night, May 26. DiMicco’s is located at the old Rocky Point Pub, 1705 West Shore Rd. It took more than seven months to renovate the space. DiMicco, grew up in restaurants, and wanted to take his “passion for food and [his] Italian heritage,” to create a restaurant that would provide the area with “authentic cooking,” simple and fresh ingredients at a reasonable cost. Alongside their grand opening, DiMicco’s is planning to expand their menu, with regular and happy hour specials, as well as introducing their brunch and catering menus in the coming weeks. They also have live music on the weekends.
“The restaurant business is a roller coaster ride, but once you find your niche like we have it’s so exciting,” DiMicco said. “My favorite thing is walking through the restaurant and seeing people have a great time and enjoying our food. The community has really come together to support us with a warm welcome. It really validates what we are doing here; something, we think is very special.”
