Diane M. Bergeron-Coates, age 54, of Apple Hill Drive, North Scituate, RI, died on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Cherry Hill Manor in Johnston, RI. She was the wife of Christopher J. Coates.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Donald J. and Avis (Knott) Bergeron, she lived in Warwick and Richmond before moving to North Scituate 7 years ago. She was a 1982 graduate of Rhode Island College, and received her masters degree in education in 1991 from Cambridge College.

Diane was employed in the Attleboro Public School District since 2001, first as a classroom teacher at Peter Thacher Elementary School, then as the Elementary Math Coach at Thomas Willett Elementary School. Prior to teaching in Attleboro, Diane taught at the Alperin Schechter Day School in Providence (now the Jewish Community Day School of Rhode Island) for 10 years. She also taught in California for four years, as well as substitute teaching in Warwick, and working in three local library systems.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two brothers, Donald L. Bergeron of Lebanon, Ohio and David A. Bergeron of Alexandria, Virginia, a sister, Debra L. Bergeron of West Warwick; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 7, at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Episcopal Church, 111 West Shore Road, Warwick, RI. Relatives and friends are invited, and may visit on Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick. Burial will be private.
