Dine out night benefits AIDS Project RI

Did you know that, according to the Centers for Disease Control, approximately one in five people living with HIV in the United States do not even know that they are infected?

You can help raise awareness of the importance of getting tested by supporting AIDS Project Rhode Island, which provides education, prevention and testing programs and a range of services for people living with HIV/AIDS in the state.

All you have to do is go out and eat on Thursday, April 25, for the annual Dining Out for Life event benefiting AIDS Project Rhode Island. More than 30 restaurants in Rhode Island are expected to participate by donating a portion of their proceeds that evening to AIDS Project Rhode Island.

AIDS Project Rhode Island is also recruiting restaurants.

“The goal is to get as many restaurants on board as possible, and get them filled with diners,” said event coordinator Amy Stein.

Interested restaurants or volunteers with contacts at restaurants should contact Stein at amy@aidsprojectri.org. For more information, visit www.aidsprojectri.org or follow them on Facebook. AIDS Project RI is a division of non-profit Family Service of RI.
