'Disregard' water, sewer bills advises city

The city administration is directing property owners to “disregard” their recently received water and sewer usage bill.

No, that’s not a typo – “disregard.”

In a three-sentence press advisory issued from the mayor’s office Friday, residents are told that new bills are being processed and will be re-issued within the week.

“The city recently issued water and sewer usage bills to residents; however, due to human error, the computation on the bills is incorrect,” reads the announcement.

Reached by email, Mayor Scott Avedisian offered additional insight to what happened.

“The bills were printed and then they realized that every bill had 2 percent interest added. The computer program was set to automatically add the 2 percent,” he wrote.
