Do you believe in the Constitution?

An open letter to Rep. Peter Palombo:

So you think that it is evil for a citizen of your very own state to stand up to bigots and for the Constitution of the United States, do you? And you have the gall to call yourself a democrat? I guess that has to mean that you do not, in fact, support and believe in the Constitution, the body of law on which our country is founded, and whose essential principle is that the mob will not rule; that democracy is not about the majority getting its way without regard for the rights of the minority.
Jessica Ahlqiuist would appear to be the only decent, respectful human being in your constituency, as evidenced by the despicable utterances (or, to be more honest about it, threats) that are being made against her online and in your so-called community. Your response to your constituents' ire is simply to join in the "let's tear up the Constitution" party and sit there on the radio dishing out heavy gobs of sarcasm and calling a teenager "an evil little thing." Did you never swear an oath to uphold the Constitution? Are you only interested in your seat in government, but not the least interested in protecting the laws that made this country what it is? You do not deserve to be elected when you can be so cruel and indifferent to the rights of all the people in this country. This is not a theocracy, and the day that it becomes one it will be a disaster for the country and the world. You should be ashamed of yourself and your fellow bigots. You could even learn something from the last line in the prayer you are so determined to: "Help us always to conduct ourselves so as to bring credit to Cranston High School West.” What credit does it bring you to be a mean, bigoted child bully Mr. Palumbo?

Thank you for putting in your two cents all the way from the Bronx. You must be related to the late Bobby "the brain" Heenan to pen such an instructive letter. Yes, we know Palumbo is a nitwit and should be voted out along with most of the other members of that State House, but as long as we let nitwits vote...So, Thank you for being Captain Obvious. Regarding the "tear up the Constitution" you have one ruling, from one fossilized federal judge, who in the past has been overturned. There is something called an appeals process, obviously you missed law class that day at Fordham. Now, please go and grab your shoe shine kit and assume your spot in Washington Heights and take Palumbo with you.

bendover sez: "There is something called an appeals process..."

There sure is. And it looks like Cranston is going to waste more taxpayer money pursuing an appeal it will most certainly lose.
