Donald E. Maymon, 80, passed away on August 4, 2012 at Kent Hospital. Married for 56 years, he was the husband of Elsie M. (Schielein) Maymon of Warwick.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Edson and Irene (Shaw) Maymon. Mr. Maymon graduated from Pawtucket West in 1949 then got his marketing degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1953. He is a Korean War era Army veteran. He was employed by Jordan Marsh’s training department in Boston, New York Lace Store in Pawtucket and was a manager for one of several stores for Emblem and Badge retiring in 1995. He was a member of Jenks Lodge #24 A.F. & M of Pawtucket, Scottish Rite of Providence, Harmony Royal Lodge Chapter #15, Commandary of Thomas Smith Webb and Swords of Bunker Hill. He was the Past Master Counselor of Pawtucket Demolay and Past Chief for the Artisans. He is also a lifelong member of the Tropical Fish Society of RI where he served as President, Vice President and show chairman.
Besides his wife Elsie, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey D. Maymon and wife, Leslie (VanSant) of Narragansett; and two grandchildren, Zane and Hannah Maymon both of Narragansett.
A funeral service will be held at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home and Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick on Thursday, August 9 at 10 a.m. followed with interment at Moshassuck Cemetery in Central Falls. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 6:30 p.m.
