Doris V. (Groves) Shoesmith, 94, passed away May 27, 2013 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold W. Shoesmith.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Gladys M. (Senior) Groves.
Doris is survived by four daughters: Mary Ann Howard, Elizabeth L. Clem, Doreen Shoesmith and Muriel Cambio, three sons: Kenneth, Wayne and Milton Shoesmith. She was the grandmother of fourteen grandchildren and one deceased grandchild; twenty-two great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late David Shoesmith, Constance Moynihan and Karen Maciel; and sister of the late Muriel Rossi.
Her funeral service will be held Thursday, May 30, at 11 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park. Visiting hours Wednesday 5-8 p.m.
