Dorothy A. (Garrow) Salisbury, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2014, at the St Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich. She was the widow of Lester L. Salisbury, Jr.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late William F. and Anna C. (Rodgers) Garrow, she lived on Tyler Street in Warwick for many years. She was a 1940 graduate of Aldrich High School. Dorothy retired from Textron, where she worked for over 25 years in the corporate office. She was a member of the Pilgrim Senior Center and the Warwick Friendship Seniors Club. She was a communicant of St. Peter Church, and a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Dorothy was a kind, caring, and gentle woman who loved unconditionally, and her life was dedicated to her family. She was an inspiration to her three children, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She leaves two daughters, Lorraine Joly and her husband, Omer of Tolland, Connecticut, and Mona Coppola (wife of the late Jim Coppola) of Warwick; a son, Lester “Lee” Salisbury and his wife, Sue of North Kingstown; her grandchildren, Kim, Kristin, and Kerry; and her great-grandchildren, Kelly, Marissa Alec, Scott, and Alison. Dorothy was very close to her sister, the late Ruth A. Tongue.

The family wants to give special thanks to the dedicated staff of St. Elizabeth's Home.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, December 12, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
