Dorothy E. (Batchelor) Wilmot, R.N., 79, died January 18, 2014 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late John T. “Jack” Wilmot.

Born in Westlock, Alberta, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Leslie D. and M. Eileen (Young) Batchelor. She graduated from Hope High School, Providence and from the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse, employed as the Director of Nursing at the Warwick Health Center for much of her career. In her semi-retirement she also worked as a nurse at the Providence YMCA Day Care Center.

She was a long-time member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Warwick. Dottie loved to spend time with her cat, TJ, play bridge with her friends, and watch her favorite New England Patriots. Dorothy enjoyed traveling, especially vacationing with her family in Bermuda. She will long be remembered as a loving, gracious, and devoted mother, nana, and friend.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters: Leslie E. Wilmot and her partner, Jane A. Fogarty of Arvada, Colorado, Laurie J. Connors and her husband, Robert of Warwick, one son, David J. Wilmot and his wife, Barbara of Saunderstown; two brothers: Robert L. G. (Ruth) Batchelor of East Greenwich and Gerald E. (Helen) Batchelor of Warwick and a sister, Margaret J. (Raymond) Lippka of Warwick. She was the beloved “Nana” of four grandchildren: Zachary & Jacob Wilmot, and David & Katherine Connors.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 21, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 111 West Shore Road, Warwick. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston.
