Dorothy M. (Bergonzi) Greco, age 88, formerly of Warwick, died peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Henry F. Greco, a former Warwick City Councilman and past president of the Warwick City Council.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of the late Louis E. and Julia (Ertola) Bergonzi, she lived in Warwick since 1947. Mrs. Greco was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was the center of her life. She loved the ocean, playing golf, dancing and enjoyed time with many lifelong friends. She was active with her husband in numerous organizations to benefit others and support the community. She and her husband were founding members of St. Kevin Parish in Warwick.

She is survived by her three children, Jane G. Deming and her husband, Fred of Warwick, David H. Greco and his wife, Mary Lou of Cranston, and Maryellen G. Volpicelli and her husband, Francis “Buddy” of Coventry; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Albert Bergonzi, Fred Bergonzi, and Marion Lawless.

Her funeral was held on Monday, December 15, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Burial was in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
