Dorothy M. (Scuncio) Hayden, age 84, formerly of Groveland Avenue, Warwick, died on November 12, 2013, at Kent County Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ren P. Hayden.

Born in Cranston, a daughter of the late Joseph L. and Assunta R. (Crudele) Scuncio, she moved to Warwick in 1959. Mrs. Hayden was employed in accounting for 35 years by the State of Rhode Island in several departments, retiring in 1990. She was a member of the Society of Governmental Accountants, the Business and Professional Women’s Club, the East Bay Women’s Club, the Silver Haired Legislature, and the William Shields Post # 43 American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Hayden of Warwick; a sister, Juanita A. Scuncio of Warwick; a son-in-law, Kevin E. Donahue of Smithfield; and three grandchildren, Robert Simmons, Katelynne E. Donahue, and Edward P. Donahue. She was the mother of the late Cherie A. Donahue; and the sister of the late William F. Scuncio and Evelyn M. Scuncio.

Her funeral was held on Saturday, November 16, at 9:45 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Cranston Street, Cranston. Burial was in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, RI Chapter.
