Dorothy S. (Silva) Richard, 90, passed peacefully February 15, 2012 at West View Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Rene N. Richard.
Born in West Warwick, a daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Pinhuda) Silva, she was a lifelong resident of the Pawtuxet Valley area. Mrs. Richard was employed at the West Warwick Tax Collectors Office for many years and Bradford Soap as a payroll clerk for several years before retiring. She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church and a member of the Holy Rosary Society and loved spending time with family.
She leaves two sons, Mark A. Richard and his wife, Susan, of West Warwick and Neal P. Richard and his wife, Peggy, of West Warwick; a daughter, Ann M. Victoria and her husband, Anthony, of North Kingstown; seven sisters, Barbara Steele, Gloria Lafond, Elizabeth Silva, Theresa Enos, Veronica Peltier, Claire Blade and Eileen Godin; three brothers, Manuel, Thomas and Joe Silva and five grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Mary Felice, Beatrice Souza and Lillian Patenaude.
Her funeral was held Feb. 20 from Henault-Gallogly Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Anthony Church, Maple Ave., West Warwick. Interment followed in Notre Dame Cemetery.
