Dorothy V. (McCoy) Spencer, 86, of Warwick passed away Monday at St. Elizabeth Home where she had received devoted care for three years. She was the beloved wife of Arthur J. Spencer for fifty-three years.

Born in Providence in 1928, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mary H. (Linehan) McCoy. A 1947 Mount Pleasant H.S. Graduate, she was an office worker at the U.S. Rubber Co. Providence Plant where she met her future husband. She was a member of SS Rose & Clement Parish. Her major focus in life was being a devoted wife to her beloved husband to whom she was married fifty three wonderful years.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son Stephen of Warwick, a daughter Kathleen Kay and her husband, Robert Kay; and a cherished granddaughter Natalie Kay of Bow, New Hampshire. She was a sister of William McCoy, United States Army, Raymond McCoy and Marion Willis all deceased. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. from The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
