Dunkin’ Donuts celebrating scholarship program’s 19th year

Posted

Dunkin’ Donuts and the franchisees of Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts are pleased to announce that applications for the 19th annual Dunkin’ Donuts Scholarship Program will be available beginning Feb. 1.

This annual program awards well-rounded students with scholarships for use toward their college education. Interested applicants can visit any Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant in Rhode Island or Bristol County, Mass., for more information. The deadline to submit applications is March 15.

This year, Dunkin’ Donuts will award a $1,000 scholarship to 100 college-bound high school seniors in Rhode Island and Bristol County who excel academically, demonstrate leadership qualities and are involved with the community.

In the 19 years that local Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees have funded the program, nearly $2 million in scholarship money has been awarded to students to help further their education, demonstrating the franchisees’ long-standing commitment to supporting youth and education-based programs in their communities.

“Since the inception of this program, the need for scholarships has grown tremendously with each passing year,” said Joe Prazeres, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee. “We are so proud to offer this initiative to our loyal guests who support us every day, and we hope that these scholarships will help ease the financial burden of achieving a college education for local families.”

Applicants to the Dunkin’ Donuts Scholarship Program must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Be a high school senior who plans to enroll in a course of study. Students must be enrolled at least part-time in a baccalaureate degree program at an accredited college or university, an associate degree program at an accredited junior or community college, or a certificate program at an approved vocational or technical institute.

Be a resident of Rhode Island or Bristol County.

Eligible students can receive additional information by visiting participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Rhode Island and Bristol County. Applications must be received by March 15 for consideration. The Dunkin’ Donuts scholarship program is managed by Scholarship America.
