Elizabeth M. Ricci
a nurse’s aide
Elizabeth “Bette” M. (Dooley) Ricci, 95, of Warwick, passed away August 10, 2011 at Kent Hospital.
Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Thomas L. and Pheobe (Robidoux) Dooley. Mrs. Ricci had formerly been a nurse’s aide. Her family was her life and she was devoted to her three children. Bette was a lover of life who supported causes closest to her heart, such as children, animals and the war effort. She had a generous spirit and passion for music, dance, nature and helping others. She was an extraordinary 95-year-old woman, still walking and exercising up to two weeks before her final days. She was ageless. If able, she would have saved the world.
She is survived by a son, Gerald P. Ricci and his wife, Cheryl; a daughter, Elizabeth Ricci, her “favorite niece,” Linda O’Connell; her grandchildren, Loni-Jean and Spencer; her sister-in-law, Rita B. Dooley; her loving nieces and nephews; and a great-niece, Kelley Paradis. She was the mother of the late Christopher T. Ricci and sister of the late Thomas D. and Edward F. Dooley and Ursula D. Clapp.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Church, Beach Ave., Warwick. Donations in her memory may be made to Boy’s Town of America.
