Early struggles

It has been far from a perfect start for all three of the girls' basketball teams in the city.

All three teams - Pilgrim, Warwick Vets and Toll Gate - are winless in their respective leagues, as they are a combined 0-10 thus far on the season.

That being said, the teams have been playing better out of the league. Vets has one win overall, and it came in its season opener against Pilgrim, which the 'Canes pulled out 47-44.

Pilgrim, on the other hand, has a non-league win on its own, which it earned over Toll Gate, 57-50, last Wednesday.

The loss to Pilgrim was the closest game Toll Gate has had, as it is still in search of its first win this season, but it will have pletny of chances going forward. The Titans still have 14 games left on the year.

There is also the chance for Vets or Pilgrim to pick up another win today, as they will likely play each other in the Coventry Credit Union Holiday Classic, either for the championship or in a consolation game.
