The Edgewood Congregational Church will hold its annual Christmas bazaar this year with a new perspective on reaching out to the community.

The Advent Lights Community Bazaar will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church hall at 1788 Broad St., Cranston. In addition to the traditional items found at church bazaars – gifts, crafts, homemade foods, plants, jewelry, antiques – a number of health and community service booths are being added.

Lifespan will provide flu shots from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Project AIDS will conduct free HIV testing. The Coalition to Prevent Child Abuse will have a special jewelry table with proceeds benefiting the non-profit agency and the good work they do in the community.

Outside vendors will also present their wares, in addition to a straw raffle, family fun items and events and fabulous prizes. Breakfast and lunch will be available, along with homemade fudge and other baked items. You will find that perfect Christmas gift or unusual item for your home at Grandma’s Attic and Grandpa’s Storage Locker, in addition to the Christmas Shoppe.

Additional space may be rented by non-profit organizations. By e-mailing patkohler1@hotmail.com. For more information or directions call 461-1344 or 461-9612.

Edgewood Congregational Church serves the Cranston, Providence and Warwick communities and beyond. Their motto is: “Wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!”
