Edward H. Silva, 86, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He was the husband of the late Maureen M. (Kallaher) Silva.

He was a son of the late Edward H. and Evelyn L. (Forshner) Silva. Mr. Silva was a school counselor at St. Mary Academy Bay View for 17 years before retiring in 2000. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Boston University and his Master’s in education and psychology from North Eastern University. He started his career with the Boston School System before moving to the Holbrook School System. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S Army and was a member of the William Shields Post American Legion.

He is survived by his daughter Kathleen M. Haslam and her husband, Keith of Chepachet; and his grandchildren: Levi and Kayla Haslam. He was the brother of the late William Silva.

A visitation will be held Saturday December 17, 2016 at 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
