Edward J. Beagan, 87, a test man for the New England Telephone Co. for 40 years, died December 9, 2011. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice D. (Wall) Beagan, to whom he was married for over 50 years.
He was the son of the late John and Ellen (Cosgrove) Beagan. Ed was a veteran of World War II, where he was part of the Red Ball Express under General Patton. He was a member of VFW Post #183, Warwick, Knights of Columbus and the Telephone Pioneers. Ed was an active member of the Warwick Senior Center, where he enjoyed calling bingo for many years.
He is survived by Pat Carney and her husband, Dan; Ted Beagan and his wife, Sue; Janet Simpson and her husband, Gary; and Barbara Burns and her husband, Bob. He was the grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of five. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be private.
