Save The Bay and Indie Cycle will be accepting unwanted electronic equipment this Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Save The Bay’s Bay Center, 100 Save The Bay Drive, Providence.

Items that will be accepted include: Residential computer equipment, all televisions, networking equipment, all telephone and cell phones, iPods, chargers, console gaming systems and peripherals, audio/visual equipment, all types of stereo equipment, remote controls, all types of office equipment, vacuum cleaners, rug steamers, floor buffers, power tools and small appliances. Basically, anything with a wire will be collected.

Also accepted are lead batteries of any size, type or shape, including auto/marine batteries and battery backups. Disposable alkaline batteries will not be accepted.

Air conditioners, dehumidifiers, small refrigerators, water coolers and freezers that are not actively leaking will be accepted. A $10 disposal fee is charged for all Freon-containing appliances.

The following will not be accepted: Any type of light bulb, furniture, broken tube TVs, mattresses, firearms, or hazardous materials, such as paint or other chemicals.

Indie Cycle has a zero landfill policy and does not remarket any hard drives or data storage devices. They partner with Good Point Recycling in Middlebury, Vt.
