Elizabeth M. (Fitzgerald) Calise, 95, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014. She was the wife of the late Archie Calise.
Born in New York City, a daughter of the late Daniel and Catherine (Halpin) Fitzgerald, she moved to Rhode Island to marry her husband, Archie, September 8, 1946. Mrs. Calise had worked as a nurse’s aide in the nursery at the former Lying In Hospital in Providence. Her greatest accomplishments were owning her own home in the Mt. Pleasant section of Providence and having all her children graduate college.
She was the beloved mother of Joseph Calise, Deborah Lockwood, Archie Calise, Catherine Calise) and the late Daniel Calise. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and her brother, James Fitzgerald.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial Monday, December 29, at 10 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, Academy Avenue, Providence and the interment in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
