Elizabeth Sarro has been named to the board of directors at LeadingAge RI, the professional organization representing not-for-profit nursing homes, assisted living facilities, senior housing providers, and adult day health centers.

Sarro is the president and administrator of Bethany Home. In that capacity, she oversees the 33-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation community. She is a licensed home administrator and a registered dietitian whose work has been published in the Health Care Facilities Quarterly Journal and the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.

A graduate of the University of Rhode Island (B.S. in Food & Nutritional Science and Dietetics), Johnson & Wales University (M.S. in Management Technology) and Providence College (nursing home administrator licensure certificate program), Sarro has worked in the field of elder care for 30 years. She is a resident of Warwick.

LeadingAge RI was founded in 1989 and represents the continuum of long-term care providers in Rhode Island, including not-for-profit nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and senior housing providers, as well as adult day health centers. The mission of the association is to advance excellence in the field by fostering innovation, collaboration, and ethical leadership; advocating for sound public policy; providing education, collaboration, and professional development; valuing older people and their right to make choices; and promoting a continuum of services.
