Elizabeth V. “Betsy” (Gall) Pokeos, age 81, of Namquid Drive, Warwick, died on July 21, 2012 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the wife of the late John E. Pokeos.
Born in Cranston, a daughter of the late William and Phyllis (Dailey) Gall, she lived in Warwick since 1956. Mrs. Pokeos was employed at the Providence Washington Insurance Co. in Providence for 40 years before retiring. She was a communicant of St. Peter Church in Warwick.
She is survived by a brother-in-law, Ralph F. Madonna of North Providence; a nephew, Thomas W. Madonna, Esq. and his wife, Marlene A. Madonna of Lincoln, a niece, Sandra E. Galindo and her husband, Joseph T. Galindo, Sr. of Pawtucket; her grandnieces and grandnephews, Thomas W. Madonna, Jr. Esq., Amy M. Galindo, Lisa M. Iannetta, Lori A. Galindo, and Joseph T. Galindo, Jr.; and a great-grandniece, Ashlyn B. Iannetta. She was the sister of the late Barbara Gall and Marjory H. Madonna.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, July 26, at 9 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Visiting hours are Wednesday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.
