Empire Revue celebrates 7th anniversary at AS220

The Empire Revue, Rhode Island’s Premier Variety Show, is celebrating seven years of monthly shows at downtown’s AS220 Performance Space (115 Empire St., Providence) July 7 at 8 p.m.

Hosted by local musician and storyteller Keith Munslow, The Empire Revue features music, stand-up comedy, burlesque and special guests of all kinds, as well as sketch comedy by The Sparkling Beatniks (Melissa Bowler, Hannah Devine, Eric Fulford, Richard Goulis, Steve Lynch, Nicky Mariani, Kate Teichman and Stuart Wilson). Musical interludes are provided by The Superchief Trio, also led by Munslow.

The Revue takes place the first Sunday of every month at AS220. Special guests for this month’s show include mentalist Rory Raven, comedians Tim McIntire and Kate Ghiloni and musicians Mark Cutler, Lisa Marie and Jacob Haller. Sparkling Beatniks will include Kelly Seigh, James Foley and Dave Rabinow.

Munslow developed the Revue in an effort to bring a collaborative and consistently high quality variety show into the AS220 Performance Space. He selects guest acts to create a widely varying array of local performers that will complement the sketches created by the Sparkling Beatniks each month.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early as seating fills up quickly and is first-come, first-seated and is often standing-room-only.
