The Empire Revue, Providence’s Premier Variety Show, is celebrating six years of monthly shows at downtown’s AS220 Performance Space (115 Empire St., Providence) on July 1, with a show at 7 p.m. and a show at 9 p.m.

Hosted by local musician and storyteller Keith Munslow, The Empire Revue features music burlesque, stand-up comedy and special guests of all kinds, as well as sketch comedy by The Sparkling Beatniks (Melissa Bowler, Hannah Devine, Eric Fulford, Richard Goulis, Kate Lohman, Steve Lynch, Nicky Mariani and Stuart Wilson). Musical interludes are provided by The Superchief Trio, also led by Munslow.

The Revue takes place the first Sunday of every month at AS220. Typically shows start at 8 p.m.; however, to celebrate its six years as well as to accommodate increased demand for seating, a second show has been added. Special guests for the show include mentalist Rory Raven, sketch comedians Dave Rabinow and Tim Thibodeau, comedians Tim Varguilish and Elizabeth Gutterman, burlesque artist Bettysioux Tailor, and musician Jon Campbell.

Munslow developed the Revue in an effort to bring a collaborative and consistently high quality variety show into the AS220 Performance Space. He selects guest acts to create a widely varying array of local performers that will complement the sketches created by the Sparkling Beatniks each month.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early as seating fills up quickly and is first-come, first-seated.
