Ethel M. Giusti,76, of Warwick, R.I. and Boca Raton, Florida passed away on September 30th at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of her "High School Sweetheart", John for 59 years, just recently celebrating their "special"day, August 28th. They had a love story like no other!

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Dorothy (Bourgeois) Swenson. She was an avid golfer as she was co-owner with her husband John of the Woodland Greens Golf Club for thirty-four years. She was also a member of the Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida where she got her first Hole In One and then went on to get her second Hole In One at Boca Pointe Country Club the following year. She and her husband John co- chaired Hendricken's first fundraiser event, EPOCH.

She raised five wonderful children, who were the love of her life and who blessed her with fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Ethel was able to battle breast cancer for four years, exceeding every doctor's expectations. She was featured at the 2011 Red Sox Jimmy Fund Telethon as a woman who survived all odds with her will to live and her positive attitude. The loving qualities most remembered by her surviving husband, children and grandchildren were her perseverance, positive attitude, impeccable taste, will to live and the love for her family! Everyone who knew Ethel loved her smile, her love for life, and her ability to live life to its fullest. To all of us, we lost our best friend!

Ethel is survived by her five children: Debbie and her husband, David Creta, Sr., of Warwick, Cindy and her husband, Wayne Russo, Sr., of Trinity, Florida, John B Giusti, Jr., and his wife, Teresa of Coventry, Jeff Giusti and his wife, Gina and Robin and her husband, Jim Harrison of Warwick., She was the cherished "Meme" to David Jr., Wayne,Jr., Courtney, Nicole, John III, Ryan, Tiffany, Brittany, Kristina, Terrance Jr., Beau, Lexi-Taylor, Marisa and Jeffrey Jr. Great-grandmother of Jeffrey, Lucca and Juliana. She is also survived by her brother, Phil Swenson of Olympia, Washington, her sisters: Dorothy Payne, of Olympia, Washington, and Joan Ferguson of North Carolina. She was the sister of the late Carl Swenson. She also leaves behind her beloved pet companion Rylee Mae.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and special friend to many. She touched so many people's lives and will be sadly missed.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 8:45 a.m. from the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Gregory The Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Wednesday, 5-8 p.m.
