Eugene C. Harris, 96, of Warwick passed away on February 3, 2014 at Kent Regency. He was the husband of the late Vera (Lincoln) Harris.
Born in North Kingstown, he was the youngest of twelve children born to the late John and Nora (Proffitt) Harris. Mr. Harris was an Aircraft Mechanic at the Quonset Naval Air Station from 1945 until 1973 and then served a driver for Avis. He also served in The United States Army during World War II. He was an active member of Warwick Central Baptist Church where he served as past president and Deacon of the church and as a member of the choir.
He is survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 8:00 p.m. in The Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will be private.
