Evelyn Joy Cabral, 85, of Annapolis, Maryland, died July 5, 2013 at her home due to heart failure. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Frank Cabral, who died in 1979

Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, Evelyn was a career homemaker and wife until she became a widow in 1979. With four children at home, she began working as a fashion sales representative at Woodward & Lothrop in Annapolis for 14 years. She enjoyed gardening, the beach, reading, planning activities and parties for her children and spending time with her family. She wrote two children's books.

She is survived by her son Frank Cabral Jr. (Mary Lou) of Annapolis, four daughters, Judith Ann Cabral and Denise Marie Cabral, both of Annapolis, Valerie Ann Mauler (Robert Gary) of Severn and Tracey Elizabeth Cogliano (Daniel Vincent) of Edgewater; brother, Wesley Malcolm Blanchard of Warwick, RI; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and seven nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at Hardesty Funeral Home, Annapolis. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, at Heritage Baptist Church, 1740 Forest Drive, Annapolis. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
