The Kent County YMCA is inviting all families in the community to Try the Y for Free this week, at their recently renovated and expanded facilities at 900 Centerville Rd.
The Kent County YMCA offers more than 200 group exercise classes and programs each week, 75-plus of those being free to members; expanded Health and Wellness Centers with new cardio and fitness equipment; a new, 3,000-plus square-foot Active Family Center that includes a new infant/toddler center and Child Watch; a 25-yard pool with a state-of-the-art salt filtration system, outdoor walking trails, outdoor spray park and so much more!
During Families Play Free week, families can try out many of the programs and activities that the over 11,000 Kent County YMCA members enjoy every day. There are opportunities to swim, exercise and play – both as a family and as individuals. Additionally, there will be a Blood Drive on Friday, April 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Families who join the Y during Families Play Free Week will receive a special YMCA drawstring backpack.
“Opening the doors of the new Kent County YMCA to families in the community is our way of supporting them as they work to improve their health and wellness,” said Eileen Barber, executive director of the Kent County YMCA. “We are committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility. All of these goals help strengthen the foundations of community for all.”
