Father charged with neglect in death of 7-month-old daughter

Warwick Police were expected to arraign Ryan Beeley, 37 of 3 Airway Road with on charges of Cruelty to or Neglect of a Child Wednesday following the death of his 7-month old daughter Willow Ramos Tuesday night.

At a press conference Wednesday, Major Brad Connor, operations bureau commander, said police and rescue responded to a report of a child no breathing Tuesday at 7:20 p.m. He said the call was made by a third party male who was in the unit of the duplex house and was responding to the screams for help from Willow’s mother, Mariah Ramos, 34. Mariah had returned to the house to discover her daughter.

Willow was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Shortly after arrival of police, Beeley was transported by Warwick rescue to Kent Hospital for a “medical condition.” After being released from the hospital he was transported to police headquarters where he was charged.

Detective Captain Jamie Calise, who conducted the press conference with Connor, said that Beeley has a criminal history. He did not elaborate. It was also disclosed that last August, police responded to the residence in response to a call from a relative who was concerned about the child’s well being. Police found no signs of neglect and the matter was referred to DCYF.

Connor said Willow was an only child. He would not state the condition she was found in and only that she was in a room in the house.

Police are working with the Attorney General’s office in their investigation. They have also called on the city building department to investigate violations of the building codes, specially relating to electrical wiring.

Asked about the residence, Calise said, “The home was in relative deplorable condition.”

He'll be found guilty and sent to our fabulous adult reformatory in Cranston; put him in with the GP and he'll have a full "dance card"- prisoners just love cowards who abuse children.
