Filmmaker to discuss women’s sports

Theresa Moore, an East Providence native and producer of “Third and Long: The History of African Americans in Pro Football 1946 – 1989” and “License to Thrive: Title IX at 35,” will discuss how 40 years later, Title IX is eliminating health disparities.

YWCA Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Department of Health, and Shape Up RI are hosting the talk on June 12, described as a “a conversation about how 40 years later, Title IX is eliminating health disparities in Rhode Island.”

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 12 at 3 p.m. in the Board of Governors Room at Community College of Rhode Island’s Knight Campus in Warwick.

There is no cost to attend this event. The first 50 attendees to RSVP will receive a free swag bag. To RSVP, call 769-7450 or send an e-mail to contact@ywcanri.org. Space is limited.
