The top two legion teams in the state – New England Frozen Lemonade/Shields Post 43 and Senerchia Post 74 – met for the first time last Thursday, and Senerchia prevailed 8-5. That was part of a three-game losing streak for NEFL, which had only one loss in league play before that. On Sunday, though, NEFL and Senerchia got together for a rematch and NEFL snapped its losing streak with a 7-2 victory. NEFL broke open a 2-2 game with five runs in the seventh inning on its way to the victory.

The win moved NEFL to 16-4, while Senerchia dropped to 15-4-1.

NEFL and Senerchia will play one more time, tonight at 5:30 p.m. at Hendricken in the season finale for both teams.
