Florence Joan Weimar, born June 17, 1921 in Shamokin, Pa. and a 50-year resident of Warwick Neck, died January 10, 2012 at Kent Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Karl S. Weimar.

Mrs. Weimar was an avid gardener and past member of the Warwick Neck Garden Club. She was also a voracious reader and former member of the Ladies of Brown Book Club. She was a former communicant at St. Mary’s Church in Warwick Neck, as well as a longtime volunteer at Central Adult Day Care.

She was the loving and caring mother of three children, Eric T. of Maryland and Stephanie Bowen and Gregory Weimar of Rhode Island, with whom she lived recently until her peaceful passing. She also leaves three grandchildren, Jessica, Eric J. and Alexandra, as well as two great-grandsons, Nathan and Joshua.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours Jan. 12 from 4-7 p.m. in Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Ave., Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Cornerstone Adult Services or on-line at www.stelizabethcommunity.com. The family would like to acknowledge the great care and support extended to their mother from Cornerstone.
