For a country born to be free

To the Editor:

In gratitude to a family that shared their tribute to our country on its birthday,

Thank you, thank you for the gift you bestow on your community on this night of nights.

Sparkling trumpet blowing happy tunes,

Enchanting the evening colors,

Some red, some are white, and some are blue.

The skies light up, with glory of the three,

With matchless sparkling splendor, with banners dancing, flaunting, and unfurling, praising in the moonlight sheen.

A tribute, not for the king, who demanded allegiance,

But for a country born to be free.

A triumph of independence, and the common man, who believe right over might shall prevail.

As the war of independence bust every chain.

With the Bill of Rights, and the Constitution,

Pouring jubilation, a song, that shakes the globe

From sea to sea, the glorious liberty bell, which rings over hills and over every plain.

Ring, ring, Oh! Freedom bell, bid high the sacred banners swell,

Skies light up to remember the sacrifices of lives,

To keep our nation free.

Surge after surge, burst after burst,

Over the sky, sparkling rockets, serenade in surrender.

A country’s pride, to celebrate,

To keep our country free.
