Frances H. “Grammy” (MacKinnon) Howarth, 94, of Warwick, RI passed away on March 24, 2013. She was the wife of the late Thomas B. Howarth, Sr.

Born in Providence on December 8, 1918, she was the daughter of Leo and Maud MacKinnon. Fran was a graduate of Central High School in Providence and Katherine Gibbs. She worked as a sales lady at Cherry & Webb for more than thirty years, first in Providence and later at Midland Mall. She also worked at Sears of Warwick and then volunteered at the Kent Hospital gift shop.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas B. Howarth, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Warwick, and Gregory M. Howarth and wife, Lynn, of Plano, Texas; brother Ronald L. MacKinnon of Warwick/Florida; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a niece and three nephews; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a son, Robert L. Howarth; and sisters, Beatrice Cook and Ann Nomandin.

A funeral service will be held at the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. on Friday, March 29, at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Highland Memorial Park in Johnston. Visitation will be on Friday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
