Francis L. Ferola, 87, of Ormsby Avenue, Warwick, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at home. He was the beloved husband of Mary M. (McCrudden) Ferola.
He was a son of the late Louis and Loretta (Mallahan) Ferola and a retired steamfitter for the former Brown & Sharpe and Lieutenant for the Warwick Police Department CSO, Mr. Ferola was a Navy veteran of World War II and had served in the United States Navy Reserves for many years.
Francis was the loving father of Francis L. Ferola, Jr., Michael J. Ferola, James S. Ferola and Mary Ellen Nunes; devoted grandfather of Peter, John and Kayla Nunes; and brother of Paul Ferola and the late John Ferola and Virginia Long.
His funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Clement Church, Long Street. Burial with military honors in Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 p.m.
