Frank Luisi

Frank Luisi, age 92, formerly of Dixie Avenue, Warwick, died on January 21, 2014, at Scalabrini Villa in North Kingstown. He was the husband of Marie H. (Adams) Luisi for 67 years.

Born in Providence, the son of the late Michael and Angelina (D’Agostino) Luisi, he lived in Warwick since 1949. A member of the U.S. Army 8th Air Force during World War II, he was a B17 navigator, flying 25 missions over Germany. He retired as a Major. Mr. Luisi was a superintendent and master plumber for J.P. Cuddigan in East Providence, where he was employed for 60 years. He worked as a part-time mechanical engineer for Robinson, Green, & Beretta for 40 years. He was a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local # 51 (originally Plumbers Local # 28.)

A member of St. Timothy Parish in Warwick, he was a CYO basketball coach for many years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jeanne M. Draper and her husband, Dan of Pasadena, Texas, two sons, Frank T. Luisi and his wife, Jean of North Kingstown, and Michael J. Luisi of East Greenwich; three sisters, Etta Scappaticci of Cranston, Viola Proto and her husband, Don of North Providence, and Anna Vargas and her husband, William of North Providence; four granddaughters, Jennifer Brackman, Kelly Daniels, Allison Luisi, and Andrea Luisi; and a great-granddaughter, Kadence Brackman. He was the brother of the late Mary Spaziano and Sadie Luisi, and the brother-in-law of the late Frank Spaziano and Albert Scappaticci.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Scalabrini Villa, and Frank’s nephew Robert, for their kindness in Frank’s final days.

His funeral was held on Saturday, January 25, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick.
