This Friday, at the City Council Chambers in Warwick City Hall, the Executive Board of the Warwick Veterans Services Association will hold a brief memorial service for the four Marines and single sailor who lost their lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
On July 16 gunman Mohammad Abdulazeez opened fire on a recruiting station. He was fatally shot during police pursuit.
The victims of the shooting, according to CBS News are Gunnery Sgt. Thomas J. Sullivan, Lance Cpl. Squire K. Wells, Sgt. Carson A. Holmquist, Staff Sgt. David A. Wyatt, and Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith.
The service will include a invocation by Father Robert Marciano, the posting of colors by a veterans Honor Guard and a “setting the table for fallen comrades.” Rhode Island Adjutant General Reggie Centracchio will be in attendance. The service will be held at 2 p.m. at City Hall.
Councilwoman Camille Vella-Wilkinson and Timothy Howe, president of the Warwick Veterans Service Association, planned the service.
