The Children’s Shelter of Blackstone Valley (CSBV), which has been helping abused and neglected Rhode Island children for 36 years, will host a wine tasting fundraiser on Thursday, May 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Metacomet Country Club, 500 Veterans Memorial Parkway. Funds raised at the event will benefit Rhode Island children requiring care and rehabilitative services. The event includes music, hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, a raffle, and a cash bar.

Tickets can be purchased by going to the Events page of CSBV’s website or by calling CSBV at 722-4626. You can also downloaded the event’s flyer from CSBV’s website www.csbv.org. Tickets for the event are $45 per person.

Gasbarro’s Wines, Federal Hill, a top Rhode Island wine retailer, will present a varied selection of fine wines for sampling at the fundraiser. This year’s theme is Wine and Chocolate. The Clear Blue Band, which includes Mike Pearlman, Patrick Lynch, and David “Den” Petrone, will provide the music for this year’s event. Alison Bologna of WJAR-TV is the special guest emcee.
