Last week’s increases in crude oil prices haven’t translated to higher prices at the pump, as motorists in Rhode Island this week are seeing a four cent per gallon drop in prices, according to AAA Northeast. Prices have fallen for nine consecutive weeks.

AAA’s February 1 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.87 per gallon, four cents lower than last week. Rhode Island’s price is seven cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $1.80. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 21 cents higher at $2.08.
