Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are up seven cents this week, according to AAA Northeast.
AAA’s May 23 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.29 per gallon, seven cents higher than last week. Rhode Island’s price is one cent higher than the national average. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 40 cents higher at $2.69.
“In spite of today’s significant price spike at the pump, we’re still looking at the lowest gas prices in 11 years headed into Memorial Day weekend,” says Lloyd Albert.
