The annual Andrew J. Gauthier Hockey Festival will hit Thayer Arena on Sunday, Jan. 19, with another full slate of hockey action. The festival, named in honor of the former Toll Gate hockey player who died in 2007, is in its seventh year as a fixture on the state’s hockey circuit.
This year’s event gets underway at 11 a.m., with a game between the Prout School and Barrington High School. At 12:15 p.m., friends and family will get together for the festival’s first-ever alumni game. The Warwick girls’ hockey team takes the ice at 1:40 p.m., with a ceremony honoring Andy set for 2:50 p.m. Toll Gate takes on Narragansett at 3:15, a Yale Bulldogs youth team hits the ice against a to-be-determined opponent at 4:15 p.m. and Pilgrim takes on Warwick Vets in the final game at 5:30 p.m.
