George D. Bergmann, 92, of Minnesota Ave, passed away June 7, 2013, at the Coyne Health Care Center, in Rockland, Massachusetts. He was the husband of the late Gladys H. (Roberts) Bergmann.
He was a son of the late Emil and Mary “Molly” (Murphy) Bergmann. George was employed as an engineer for roads and bridges for the RI Dept. of Transportation for over 20 years before retiring. He was a World War II Coast Guard veteran. He summered on Block Island for many years.
He was the father of Judith L. Gill and the late Gail A. Ferriter; brother of Joseph Bergmann and the late Mary Johnston; grandfather of Theron and Jared Boudakian, Christopher and Danielle Ferriter, step-grandfather of Melissa Oliveira and Kevin Cheffler; and also survived by great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held Monday, June 10, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave. Visitation Monday at 9-10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park.
