Gerard B. Bonenfant, 87, passed away May 8, 2013 at RI Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis E. (Plaisance) Bonenfant for 64 years.
He was a son of the late Joseph and Marie Louise (Blais) Bonenfant, Jr. Gerard was employed as a systems analyst in the computer department in Quonset Point Naval Air Station for 28 years until its closing in 1974 and an account at the Coastway Community Bank for 11 years before retiring. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Warwick Council Knights of Columbus, Wm. Shields American Legion Post #43, and SS. Rose & Clement Parish.
Besides his wife; he is survived by one daughter, Sheila R. McGraw and her husband, Steven, of Exeter, one son, Bruce G. Bonenfant and his wife, Tamela, of Carver, Massachusetts; five grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary McGraw, Ashley, Chelsea and Benjamin Bonenfant; and three great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Monday, May 13 at 10:45 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 in St. Clement Church, Long Street. Burial with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Monday 9:30-10:45 a.m.
