Gifts to American Cancer Society aid research, treatment

Posted

As an organization helping cancer patients in virtually every Rhode Island community, the American Cancer Society is reaching out this December, asking residents to consider making a planned gift to support the Society’s crucial, lifesaving research, education, advocacy and patient service programs and to explore all of the ways to honor or remember someone by giving.

For those looking at year-end giving, a planned gift to the Society allows donors to combine the desire to give to charity with overall financial, tax and estate-planning goals. A planned gift allows a donor to touch those affected by cancer – now and for years to come.

Donations to the Society fund the cutting-edge research behind lifesaving treatment, screening and prevention techniques. They support the nation’s only 24-hour cancer hotline. They fuel advocacy campaigns that protect patients’ rights and safeguard public health. And they provide compassionate programs and services that help all people face cancer with courage, dignity and optimism. Charitable gifts can be made online at www.cancer.org or by calling the American Cancer Society 1-800-227-2345.
